What is the service and what does it offer?
The Wiltshire Health and Care Dietetics service for adults and children in the community and community hospitals. It supports people make dietary changes to prevent and treat nutrition related diseases such as:
- Malnutrition
- Nutritional support
- Diabetes
- Gastrointestinal disorders e.g. coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease
- Cancer
- Food intolerances
- Nutritional assessment and advice
- Chronic conditions where dietary advice can help support treatment and help relieve symptoms
- Paediatric conditions such as cows milk protein allergy, faltering growth and food intolerances
We provide a Home Enteral Feeding domiciliary service to patients at home, in residential or in nursing homes across Wiltshire.
We work to promote the use of our food is a MUST initiative to ensure timely and effective identification and management of malnutrition in the community.
How to access the service
Referrals meeting the criteria are accepted from patients’ GPs, School Medical Officers, and Dentists, as well as where agreed with Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
