Diabetes Service takes first place award

The Diabetes Service, provided by Wiltshire Health and Care (formerly under Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) has been running an educational programme for people in Wiltshire living with, or at risk of, diabetes. The group sessions, which have been running over 2014 and 2015, were set up to help people manage their condition and have seen impressive results.

This educational support for Wiltshire diabetes patients has been so successful that X-PERT Health, a national diabetes training provider, has recognised the achievement of our Diabetes Service.

On 28th July 2016, at the X-PERT Health ‘Educate not Medicate Conference & Awards 2016’, Dr Trudi Deakin, founder and Chief Executive of X-PERT Health, presented our Diabetes Service with an award for first place for “the best participant attendance score”.

Dr Deakin commented that our Diabetes Service is “doing a fantastic job helping patients make meaningful lifestyle changes which are having a huge positive influence on their health. I’m delighted they’re helping to provide the evidence we need to keep pushing diabetes education to the top of the agenda, and I congratulate them on their success.”
