Wheely well done to Longleat Ward fundraisers
Staff on Longleat Ward at Warminster Community Hospital have raised an amazing £568.53 for Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service.
Freewheelers do an incredible job transporting blood, pathology and microbiology specimens, patient notes, X-rays, breast milk, and other medical supplies and the team are hugely grateful for everything the Freewheelers do to help support them.
Health Care Assistant Stella Fordham came up with the idea to raise funds through a raffle and from selling homemade food to staff. The raffle was a huge success as were the cakes and spicy treats. Freewheeler Jim Hobby visited the ward to receive the cheque on behalf of the organisation and took the time to chat with the team over a cuppa, even managing to pick up some urgent bloods at the same time!
Founded in 1990, Freewheelers delivers a service to the NHS and the wider community of Somerset, Bristol, Bath, West Wiltshire, and South Gloucestershire. Freewheelers is one of a number of groups covering most of the country, and is funded entirely by public donation and sponsorship and staffed by unpaid volunteers.
Well done to the Longleat Ward team and thank you to the Freewheelers.
