Lady Lansdowne unveils new gym equipment

People using Wiltshire Health and Care’s physiotherapy department at Chippenham Community Hospital will be able to use new gym equipment to aid their recovery, following a donation from the League of Friends of Chippenham Hospital.

The League of Friends donated £1,000 which funded the installation of a modern, heavy weight cable machine, just like you’d find in any prestigious gym.

Carol Langley-Johnson, Outpatient Physiotherapy Manager said: “This new piece of gym equipment will allow us to deliver an enhanced service. It will help people to build strength and conditioning in a safe way, meaning patients will complete their physiotherapy with renewed confidence”.

Lady Lansdowne, Patron of The League of Friends officially unveiling the new piece of equipment at a presentation last month.

Vaughan Mizon, Chairman Chippenham Hospital League of Friends said: “We are pleased to be able to provide this item of strength and conditioning equipment and are confident that it will help people return to their normal lifestyle.”

Thank you to everyone involved.
