Diasend mobile app

Diasend mobile app

We want to support and help you to achieve the best diabetes control possible. Diasend is a free service which will give you and us a clear understanding of your blood glucose patterns and help us make better decisions about how much medication you take and when you take it. Your meter has the ability to connect wirelessly to your smartphone, so all you will need to do is press a few buttons to upload your blood glucose readings to Diasend, via a mobile app.

(Please note: if you are using FreeStyle Libre, continue to upload your results to LibreView)

While using Diasend is optional, I hope that you will regularly use the system so that you are able to see your own blood glucose patterns and see the relationship between the patterns and your insulin doses, your diet and your exercise and lifestyle. When we have appointments together, we will use it as a guide to our conversations and plans.

There are a few steps you will need to go through

  1. Download the Diasend app from either the Apple App Store or from Google Play (Android) or from these links here (Apple) and here (Android)
  2. Read instructions on how to connect your particular meter to your mobile and the Diasend app, here and then connect your meter to your phone
  3. Register for a Diasend account and add the following clinic code when asked to share your information with us: 98-26734

If you have any problems or would prefer to connect your meter to a computer or laptop rather than to your mobile phone, please email whc.diabetesreferrals@nhs.net

Protecting your privacy

If you register for Diasend, you will need to confirm you accept their Terms and Conditions and their Privacy Policy but we also want you to know how we will use the information uploaded to Diasend. Once the readings have been uploaded to Diasend, the readings will be saved as a PDF and then stored on SystmOne, where we store all of your health records. Your clinician will ask your permission to put your record on to SystmOne. Your Diasend records will only be used by us to support you in managing your diabetes.

For more information on how we will use the readings uploaded to Diasend, the Wiltshire Health and Care Diasend Privacy Policy can be viewed here.
