Home First: Positive evaluation from Healthwatch Wiltshire
Healthwatch Wiltshire has recently completed a review of our Home First service and were pleased with what they found.
Managing Director Douglas Blair said: “Positive feedback from patients and their carers is in line with the outcomes that we are seeing in our daily practice and in our performance reports. The report does highlight some areas where improvements are required, particularly information on Home First (both pre and post discharge) and the current administrative procedures but we will address these areas as a matter of priority and include a staff forum in this process.”
Home First was implemented last year as a new initiative designed to improve the way support is offered to people when they are discharged from hospital, and where possible, helping them back to their usual routine.
Many staff were involved in the assessment, talking about the service and how it is delivered. Thank you to all of you who have made Home First’s inaugural year such a great success.
